Description
Chicken Kiev is quality chicken breast that’s crumbed and stuffed with delicious garlic butter.
How long does Kiev take to cook?
To cook, heat the oven to 180C/160C fan/gas 4. Heat the oil in a large frying pan over a medium-high heat. Fry the Kievs for 2-3 mins each side until golden – you may need to do this in batches. Transfer to a baking tray and cook for 20-25 mins until cooked through.
Hot tip:
Place a piece of bread underneath the Kiev so it soaks up the garlic butter. As a result, you will get a nice slice of garlic bread to go withyour meal!
Fun fact:
According to the Russians, chicken Kiev originated in the Muscovy region of the old Empire. The recipe – for a chicken filled with butter sauce and covered in breadcrumbs – was modified to perfection in the 19th century by a Ukrainian chef, hence the misleading name.
